Dodger Sporting Goods, New York, N.Y. produced Dodger Basketball Set, that we feel is probably from the 1950's. 15" x 16" corrugated cardboard box containing most of the original contents. The hoop and net along with the original mounting brackets as listed on the side of the box are included with the original parts envelope and an air needle. The only thing missing is the "lightweight" basketball which could not have been much more than a lightweight rubber blow up ball. The box is in very nice condition and is the key piece to the set, as most would have been thrown away after putting the net up. An internet search did not reveal any other sets or information, perhaps people who collect early basketball games will have an idea where a ball can be found. A completed set would be a piece of basketball game history. We offer the start of a hunt for some saavy collector.
