Unseen before to us, a 1939 Baseball Centennial Postcard honoring George Herman (Babe) Ruth with a small real photo attached to the raised printing silver gilded postcard. Postmarked Cooperstown, N. Y. on June 25th 1939 just 13 days after the Centennial of Baseball stamp went on sale. A very important piece for the Babe Ruth collector. It has the name Margaret on the blank back, a light corner crease, one small tear on the top edge and what appears to be a couple of pin holes on the back that do not go thru the stamp on the front. All of these small maladies do nothing to the otherwise excellent appearance of the small Ruth photo in a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform surrounded by the raised silver printing and text. The photo is from 1938 when Ruth was a 1st Base Coach for the Dodgers. An internet search reveals no other 1939 Centennial or any others with the small image of Ruth affixed.
