1909-1913 E254 Colgans Gum - Square - Donie Bush Detroit
Although generally referred to as E254 "proof" cards we don't generally categorize these Colgan-like square cards as such. There is a chance they were a prototype of the more common E254's, or one of the associated series, and never made it to full production. Whatever they are, they are unusually scarce in the condition this one is in. Many of them have multiple creases or, more commonly, damage on the back from album/scrapbook removal. Donie played along side Ty Cobb in his heyday and there are many pictures of the 2 together. A high grade E254 square card.
