1887 Gypsy Queen card of Jack Farrell, Washington, the Hands on Knees pose, also found on his Old Judge card, taken at Gray Studios for Goodwin & Co.. The card has a nice image and the card would grade VG+, however it is adhered to a very thick piece of 19th century stock of some type. A couple of years ago we sold a couple of Gypsy Queens that had this same heavy stock on the back, these were all part of a group at one time. The stock does have a large G on the back, what the significance of this is remains unknown. There is little doubt that the backing could be professionally removed, leaving one with a very nice N175 example, or it could just be enjoyed in it's current state of preservation which has protected it quite nicely for the last 100+ years.
