M101-1 Sporting News Charles Phillipe, Pittsburg Pirates, from the June 16, 1900 edition. Measures 8 7/8" x 11". No tears or creases. A fantastic image of "Deacon" Phillipe from his first year of playing for the Pirates after playing for Louisville in 1899. The M101-1 series is highly collectible due to the large number of first time images of many players. Made further challenging by the large size of the piece and the fragile paper stock, make adding one of these to one's collection a real accomplishment.
