Iconic image of one of the pioneers of Baseball, Harry Wright seated on a bench, the image used for the Kalamazoo Bats set of 1887. Just below him there is an oval containing C. Gross & Co. 1887 Copyright. This a later printing, perhaps from the original negative. Measures 4" x 5 3/4". Sporting News stamp on the back, undoubtedly used by them for print purposes. A few touch-ups to the photo, probably contemporary in nature when used by Sporting News.
