1910 Williams Caramel card of Pirates HOFer Honus "Hans" Wagner. The same image as the iconic T206 Wagner, with the image reversed. PSA 5, the highest graded E103 Wagner by PSA since it's inception twenty five years ago. In fact the grade of 5 on any Williams Caramel is a rarity as only fifteen have achieved that grade of all players combined, seven of which are in this auction counting this Wagner. The lone example holdered at the EX level by SGC was sold a decade ago in Hunt Auctions and pales in quality when compared to this example, which may well be the nicest extant, raw or holdered.

The offered card has blazing white borders and corners that display only the slightest of touches. The image is unblemished in any way, surrounded by it's normal deep red background. The back is equally as clean. This would be the highlight of many collections. In the current day rage of 1950's/1960's high grade HOF price explosion people seem to be bypassing the older HOFers of which nice cards are the extreme, not the given of the more modern eras. One would think this would be a six-figure card, which is where low level HOFer from the 1960's in a 10 holder are now selling! The savvy collector will find this quite undervalued in comparison. This is an opportunity to acquire a card that has been in a private collection(the #1 E103 Set) for quite some time and not likely to be flipped or resold by the fortunate buyer anytime soon.
