7" x 3 1/2" Paper advertising piece for Star Bloomer Girls Ball Club. This elaborate item and team were the brainchild of one Frank C. Schmelz who lived in the Indianapolis area for many years and worked various sideshows and attractions such as this. The front has a half-tone photo of the team and Schmelz and presumably his wife Pearl. Strangely the team also includes three male players. On the back is a roster and address for the team in Indianapolis of 437 Indiana Ave. Some chipping to the fragile black paper and creasing to the photo but all of the pertinent piece is intact and displays quite well. This particular piece dates to circa 1900.
