Brockelman Fall 2023 Auction

Very important historical group of sixty-six cabinet photos all of 1890's Dartmouth College Graduates. Most are taken by famous photographer Elmer Chickering. Importantly the majority are ID'd on the back of the cabinet. The group includes a host of graduates that went on to important careers. The majority of the images are from the Class of 1898. We have attached a list of the '98 graduates and placed an asterisk by the name of each that is confirmed to be in this group of photos, some without names are probably from this graduating class as well. Others are as early as 1893, the latest seen is 1901. Nearly all are pristine and in their original glassine envelope where they have remained for 125 years. This is a museum quality collection, that the college may well have an interest in, as many of these students might not have an image known, or certainly not from their college days. Original collections this large are a true find, as most have been broken up over the last century.
