Very rare and important 1913 Real Photo Postcard of the first year Portland, Maine Duffs. The Duffs were owned by Hugh Duffy from 1913 thru 1917 and became a very good ball club, prior to his selling the club. The offered postcard shows a composite image of 15 players, with Hugh Duffy in the center. The individual images were taken at the ballpark and then mounted to a large piece, matted in ovals, upon which this postcard photo was then taken and used for the postcard. We are also showing a page from the 1913 Baseball guide of the team with their pictures and names for those that like a challenge and want to match the players on the postcard to their name/image on the guide photo.
The postcard is unused and shows just the slightest of handling, the SGC 30 grade seeming quite harsh, but equally irrellavant given the fact that this is the only one graded and a thorough internet search has not turned up another. A maginficent piece that would be the highlight of an Eastern League or Hugh Duffy collection. As usual offered without reserve!
