Circa 1896-97 standard size cabinet photo of a Baseball player in a Norfolk uniform. Taken at B. S. Campbell Studios in Norfolk. Penned "Secrist P" at the bottom. The spelling a bit off, this is Theodore O'Hara "Doc" Sechrist who played for Norfolk in both 1896 Norfolk Braves and 1897 Norfolk Jewels. The uniform in the photo is the 1897 Jewels uniform. Online research also found other cabinets from this photo sitting with the same fountain pen ID's as the bottom. He did make it to the Majors for a brief season in 1899 with the New York Giants. Crystal clear image, a very desirable piece of late 19th Century Baseball history.
